~December 21st, 2009 .. The audiovisual project by Ezra Jacobs & Bas van Huizen, "Atonotoop", is completed and is now available on DVD-R. The audio-part of the piece, done by Ezra, was written specifically for a 192-speaker wavefield synthesis system and has a strong focus on spatiality. Bas then illustrated the textural and spatial characteristics of Ezra's piece with visual material, resulting in a 40-minute audiovisual work. ~June 20th, 2009 .. A new series of hardcopy albums will come out over the next few months. A selection of pieces by Richard Jonas, heavily featuring manipulated microphone recordings in a phonography manner but with his characteristic dynamics and playfulness in full effect, an epic twin-album project by Bas van Huizen consisting of the albums Fiduciefret and Glasgrazer, and an audiovisual release on DVD by Ezra Jacobs with visual work by Bas van Huizen, dubbed Atonotoop, which will feature several pieces of Ezra's recorded at the wavefield synthesis loudspeaker system in Leiden.

~April 16th, 2009 .. You can have a look & listen at a live improvisation performance of Bas van Huizen, recorded in Dordrecht during a [F]Luister concert here. 30 minutes of video. Bas makes use of various objects which he records, amplifies and transforms using digital techinques, building up layers with live looping..
~February 22th, 2009 .. A recording of a concert by Ezra Jacobs and Thomas Haighton in Amsterdam's Smart Project Space can be heard here. The 32-minute piece is a live improvisation in a musique concrète style, manipulation & transforming existing recordings at the spot.
~December 12th, 2008 .. Over at the Etherlog:"Zijgersveins", five tracks of live-looped guitar & singing-bowl sound by Bas van Huizen, in the vein of his upcoming two albums on the Waterscape and Kaspar Hauser labels.
~October 1st, 2008" .. Nylonrijp" is now available, a selection of several pieces by Bas van Huizen, including an extra disc with some of his older material.
"The basis for every track on Nylonrijp is the nylon-string guitar.
Also used were the electric guitar, chinese gourd flute, voices and various objects.
As in most of my work I work with dissonance, harmony and various textures, but here I have focused a bit more on rrhythmically interlocking staccato tones.
Nylonrijp comes with a bonus EP with older tracks.
~September 71h, 2008 .. "Krkkl, a piece by Ezra Jacobs, is out of print at Cut Hands Records and can now be downloaded here instead.
For this one I've made dense blocks of sound that move slowly as a whole but nonetheless have many different smaller gestures and details inside. To make space for these smaller things I tried to make the blocks as large as possible, in an acoustic sense (with spatially wide & surrounding sound) but also in the sense of them developing slowly and articulated. Loud. 23 minutes.
~August 31th, 2008 .. On our log you will find more Etherkreet related sound material from the vault, material in mp3-format that we'd rather publish as stand-alone, downloadable works than in hardcopy form. The first batch of log-only music is by Bas van Huizen, recorded during improvisation sessions in a Tokyo public park.
